There are numerous ATMs dispensing cash in Lev around Sunny Beach. I have used these with no problems. Same rules apply as in this country with using ATMs, keep your pin number safe.
Nationwide accounts do not charge to use ATMs abroad.
Take English sterling clean notes (unmarked) to exchange in Sunny Beach you get a better exchange rate at the banks over there.
If you need a few Lev to get you buy then you can change money at Bourgas or Varna Airports.
EATING OUT
There are over 150 Restaurants to choose from to help you choose I have some personal recommendations.
For price and value for money:
The Condor and Djannys: both restaurants offer traditional Bulgarian/English dishes and Pizzas and are open all year and used by the locals. The Condor is situated along the main road 15-20 min walk. Leave the complex turn left and keep going. You can bus or Taxi there within 5 mins. Djannys is past The Condor at the back of the market place. Dine alfresco at both restaurants if you wish.
Havanna is a popular restaurant 5 minutes walk away behind and turn right past the Meridian hotel. Havanna has a Mexican menu as well as a decent choice of English and Bulgarian cuisine.
National restaurant is also in the vicinity and offers inside and outside dining has a friendly feel and popular with families.
The further back from the seafront you are then generally the prices are lower. The quality of food does not suffer as a result either.
KHANS TENT
Is a great night out with entertainment provided by talented people for all the family whilst you eat and drink. There are great views over the bay too.
TAXIS
You can get good deals on taxi fares but just make sure you agree the price beforehand. Some people say don't use them but I have on occasions and experienced no problems by following this advice.
SUMMER SUN
Temperatures can reach 40 degrees plus in the summer and still remain comfortable to sun bathe due to the climate. However ensure that you use plenty of sun screen and drink plenty of water during the day. That way you can enjoy large quantities of very cheap alcohol in the evening!!
