The coast enjoys a maritime climate that is one of the country's best features. Summers are typically hot and dry, but comfortable due to moderate humidity. Winters are short,cold and dry but when the sun is out in December it is possible to sit out in shorts and T shirt. The next day it could be snowing though and time for your jacket! Mediterranean influences do temper the harsher continental climate of the interior. The air is fresh and healthy due to the influence from the mountains.
Average summer temperatures are around 28 degrees celsius with July and August the hottest months. The year 2007 was one of the hottest and sunniest of recent times with the weather being consistently better than Spain and the coast saw more visitors than ever.
